Maintenance Manager: Plastic

The Maintenance Manager plans, organizes, directs, and manages the location’s maintenance function. Position is primarily responsible for molding machines, injection molds, secondary equipment as well as the supporting equipment in the facility. Individual will also be responsible for the safety, productivity, effectiveness and job satisfaction of the maintenance technicians.
  
Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct various detailed inspections and/or trouble shooting of injection molding equipment, decorating equipment, production support equipment, as well as other various electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic power supplies.
  • Research various types of equipment to satisfy the needed requirements for a consistent production flow.
  • Offer suggestions on preventative and corrective actions.
  • Manage and supervise maintenance personnel.
  • Make recommendations for production support equipment, facilities equipment and facilities layout.
  • Schedule maintenance personnel for various tasks in order to meet production needs.
  • Purchase all machine and facilities equipment, parts and labor.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive experience in working with high speed, electro-mechanical and hydraulic equipment and managing a maintenance department.
  • Thorough knowledge of injection molding machinery (a plus), production support equipment, facilities layout and maintenance.
  • Experience in designing and scheduling preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ability to facilitate and delegate assignments that are complex in nature, where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

Maintenance Supervisor: Dairy - $70-80K

Responsibilities:
  • Keeps up to date of the latest technology presenting potential improvement ideas to management.
  • Prepares an annual Capital Improvement Budget for plant technical solutions.
  • Develops a plan for implementing a training template for process measurements and control skills that can be used to develop additional department personnel and plant personnel.
  • Capable of managing smaller sized projects that perform the complete development cycle of a digital technical solution.
  • Ensures complete, accurate documentation of all programming and hardware schematics.
  • Good technical understanding of dairy products manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Able to develop and manage the execution of technical capital improvement projects, including timelines, budgets and vendors.
  • Must be technically proficient to provide troubleshooting leadership and technical knowledge for Maintenance Department.

Qualifications:
  • Min. 5 years experience supervising a Maintenance Department in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience and/or training in PLC Logic skills is a plus.  
  • Solid technical understanding of the operation of, and the troubleshooting of, mechanical and electrical food manufacturing equipment
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Excellent verbal, written and group presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and training documents in an organized, conventional manner.
  • Introduction to continuous improvement and statistical process control problem solving tendencies.

This division also includes Global Dairy Ingredients that sells a portfolio of value-added dairy ingredients (specialty powders, milk powder, cheese, butter and whey) and offers expertise to large international customers.

Responsibilities:
Manage the maintenance department in the most efficient way possible to maintain both production and quality goals. Maintain safety and a high degree of maintenance standards at all times. Provide direction and technical assistance to the maintenance employees. Maintain responsibility for developing the maintenance talent on your shift.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  
  • BS or ME in Chemistry preferred.
  • 3+ years industrial maintenance experience.  
  • Supervisory, communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.  
  • Computer and PLC skills are desirable.  
  • Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is desirable.
  • Has technical background and understanding of maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of boilers, air compressors, refrigeration, wastewater treatment, process equipment and control of food packaging.
  • Ability to recognize problems and implement appropriate solutions.
